Are you struggling to grow your business?
Do you nervously watch your finances dwindling with nothing coming in to replace what you’re spending?
Despite your best efforts, does it appear that you simply can’t earn beyond a set $ amount each month?
You’re not alone.
This is much more common than you might think. But out in public nobody wants to talk about it. It’s a hush hush kind of thing…
Did you grow up being told that it’s rude to talk about money?
I did. “It’s not nice to talk about money” … I can clearly hear my Mum’s voice saying that to me, repeatedly.
It seems that I wanted to talk about money even then!
Anyhoo… I can tell you that behind closed doors in my client sessions and in my membership we talk A LOT about money and I’ve noticed a pattern that connects our self-worth with the amount of money we will allow ourselves to receive. Basically if you think you’re not worth much, you won’t allow yourself to receive or hold on to much either. There’s a bit more to it than that though, so let me explain…
Money is energy and it represents value.
We charge or earn money for the work that we do. It is an exchange of value. We give value through the work that we do – whatever our personal skill is – and then our client gives us money in exchange.
Whether you are an artist, a hairdresser, a coach, a healer or any type of entrepreneur, there is a value exchange (in the form of money) that you receive for the work (or value) that you give to the other person. If you’re good at what you do, then logically people will want to work with you and pay you more for what you do.
So why is it then, that you can’t seem to get ahead? Can’t get enough clients? Keep attracting clients that can’t afford you? or find that you’re spending more than you’re earning….?
Well could it be that you yourself, don’t appreciate your own worth and that your clients are reflecting that back to you?
As strange as this sounds, I’ve noticed that if we don’t feel valuable – or worthy – we will unconsciously sabotage our ability to receive more money, or hold on to what we have.
I’ve done it myself and I’ve seen my clients do it too.
So picture this:
You didn’t have the best childhood. Perhaps Mum or Dad was struggling with mental health, there wasn’t a lot of love to go around and there wasn’t much money either.
Maybe you were the one with the caring heart that tried to fix everything for everyone.
But when you’re only 4 or 5 years old and you can’t make your Mum stop crying or you can’t stop your Dad being angry about things you don’t even understand, you might have taken that to mean something about you.
That you are not enough.
You tried to help, but you couldn’t and the message you took from that is “I’m worthless, I’m not good at anything, I’m nothing”.
It’s sad… but I’d be surprised if there is one person I know who has not felt this at some point in time.
But life goes on and we patch ourselves up as best we can.
Very often though, these messages are still there running in the background – in our subconscious mind. They run on autopilot. Sometimes they’re quieter than at other times, but they’re still lurking there.
Now although the subconscious mind’s job is to keep us safe… when that safety message is derived from a 4 year old’s perspective, you can see that what might appear to keep a 4 year old safe, is not necessarily going to be helpful to a female entrepreneur trying to take her business to the next level. Hence why we can hit a glass ceiling within our business.
Our subconscious mind wants to keep us within its comfort zone – but we’re as frustrated as hell and want to break free!
If the message running in your mind is:
“Sit down, be quiet, don’t be seen” – how will you promote your business or give presentations?
If your inner 4 year old decided that she was not worth anything – how will you raise your fees?
If your inner 6 year old took on the belief that “it’s impossible to get ahead, we always struggle with money in our family” – then as soon as your savings start to increase and life begins to feel easy, you’ll unconsciously begin to repel clients or automatically sabotage yourself by beginning to spend the money that you do have so that you adhere to the belief that “you (also) can’t get ahead and have to struggle with money”.
It’s a limiting belief that you took on as a child and it’s running your life now. Like a programme in the computer of your mind.
Almost the opposite though, from some of the other beliefs that your conscious mind has, like:
– I create my own reality;
– I’m really good at what I do and deserve to be paid for it; or
– I genuinely believe I can build a six or seven figure business.
This seems like something different, but it’s all connected.
The beliefs you hold in your conscious mind are battling with the beliefs you hold in your subconscious mind. Hence your frustration, because you don’t know what your subconscious programmes are until you dig into them and I do this with my clients through hypnosis.
Once we discover what the programmes are, then we can override them. It’s like shining the light into the dark corners and bringing that scared little 4 year old girl out into the sunshine to play and be loved.
And then can come the self love… knowing that you are worthy. You are loveable. You are enough… and the understanding that it was never your job to fix everything for everyone else. It was only ever your job to love yourself.
When you understand that these subconscious limitations are just stories we tell ourselves to be like Mummy or Daddy and to fit in with our family, then we can free ourselves from the chains of our past and that’s when we can let ourselves receive more. More love, more joy, more value, more money and more in our business.
The trick is to find the limiting beliefs, pull them out, and then you ARE free to create the life you want. Once you know your worth, and you FEEL worthy – then you can let it in – it’s naturally attracted to you – that’s your inner abundance – your birthright.
If this speaks to you and you’re ready to uncover what’s been holding you back, DM me and let’s get your inner abundance activated.
