I admit that for quite a long period of time I did.
Actually to be honest, I hated talking about or having to deal with money.
I had money, but I had a terrible fear that I would lose it all or that it would all be taken away from me and I’d end up homeless on the streets.
In spiritual circles — or certainly the ones I was in back then — money was a bit of a taboo subject.
Nobody talked about it.
Discussions around how much we charged for our sessions or how many clients we had just never happened.
It’s almost as if money was shunned, or dirty…. And actually, how many of us were told as kids, that money is dirty and we shouldn’t touch it and hold it, so we were basically programmed that way since childhood.
One day in meditation, I was guided by spirit through a little process which I now call my Relationship to Money exercise and it put everything into perspective for me.
It showed me what I really felt about money (what I truly felt, not what I thought I felt), and most importantly it showed me exactly what I was likely to experience if I didn’t clean up my perception of money and what it meant to me.
It was a pivotal moment for me, and everything began to change after that point.
Not automatically though — no, I had to put some work in to it, but I completely changed my money consciousness, so naturally everything in my life to do with money changed.
It’s funny how so many of us can accept that “we create our own reality” when it comes to meeting the right people and finding the right books that we need to read… and yet we refuse to apply it to our money situation.
Especially my more spiritual clients.
They often just don’t put the pieces together, or if they do, they do a quick spiritual bypass on it because the beliefs they hold about money are so strong and dominant, it’s the easiest path.
Not least, digging into your own poverty consciousness is not very sexy and certainly it’s not “love and light”.
I’ve looked at this long and hard in order to understand it. Because I was there once too don’t forget! So once I got this new perspective I went back over it many, many times to look for all the pieces that had tripped me up.
A lot of new age material says that money is a 3D construct — and yes, that’s kind of true — and unspoken is the fact that when you’re a new ager, you don’t want to be part of 3D. 3D is not where you want to be — and yet we ARE here and we need money to live a good life and to thrive and grow. (Yes I know people will argue this point — but you still need money!)
And we say that people who are too focused on money are 3D, greedy, manipulative or just lower consciousness, but that’s actually a mixture of our own judgement, criticism, jealousy (maybe), spiritual bypassing and poverty consciousness.
It’s so easy to criticise and judge the people who have what you want but uhmmm…. Yeh, that’s not such an evolved state to be in, is it? So maybe there’s quite a bit of superior thinking and projection going on here too…!
At the end of the day. Money is energy. It goes wherever it goes based upon the state of mind and frequency of the recipient.
If their frequency repels it then it won’t go to them. This is not the same as their level of consciousness or state of evolution.
Money is a consciousness. It doesn’t pick and choose who it thinks is high vibe or a good person, it just goes where it is welcomed and accepted.
The problem is that if you don’t know what beliefs you are holding in your subconscious mind about money, then you won’t realise that you are repelling and rejecting money and potentially giving it a massive subconscious “F O and don’t come near me!” and THAT’S what we need to work on so that we can welcome it in, with loving arms.
Inside my Mastermind we are currently working on exactly this — our Relationship with Money — and how we can attract more into our life.
If you’d like to join us and really dig into your poverty consciousness so that you can finally clear it and manifest more money, then DM me the word MONEY to find out more.
